Help Us Transform our Interim Space!
ADA and Occupancy compliance & Ceramic Program Continuation
Edwardsville Arts Center's Interim Space Fundraising
The Edwardsville Arts Center (EAC) needs your help! Your support ensures we can continue to provide visual art programming to our community.
On May 5, 2024 the Edwardsville Arts Center's lease with Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 expires. As a result, the EAC has been searching for an interim space to continue programming. On March 5, the Edwardsville City Council unanimously agreed to a 2 year lease of the Montclaire Fire Station located at 340 Montclaire Ave, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
Montclaire Fire station will provide space to hold 2D & 3D art opportunities, however building modification are necessary to meet ADA and occupancy requirements. In addition, the lost of shared art room space at the Edwardsville High School requires us to purchase ceramic equipment, furniture, and tools to continue one of our most popular programs. Having total access to a dedicated ceramics studio will allow us to offer many more opportunities in ceramics.
The Montclaire Fire Station will allow the EAC to continue offering art classes and art opportunities for anyone in our community who has the desire to learn. We will continue to offer our FREE Saturday Art Classes for Kids, offer financial assistance for those who need support, and will have the time and space to offer more opportunities than ever before. Ensuring that our space is ADA accessible is necessary to be able to offer our services to everyone in our community, regardless of ability.
The total renovations and equipment needs are estimated at $35,000. Your financial contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in our ability to realize the continuation of our art programming. Can you help?
Below are some of our expected upcoming expenses:
Space Adaptations: $15,000
Two Kilns, kiln furniture, Ventilation: $10,000
Pottery Wheels: $4,500
Shelving: $1,000
